Last year on New Year's Day, I spent the majority of it nursing a wicked hangover. I mean, I was SO sick it wasn't even funny. Instead of risking my first day of the year in agony, I asked my husband if he wanted to go see a movie.

There weren't any horror movies playing (there's a shocking lack of them right now, which isn't unusual for this time of year) so we decided to see Anchorman 2. We made such a wise decision because we laughed SO hard throughout the entire movie, we had to keep taking off our glasses to wipe our eyes from all the tears!!

The movie started at 10:30pm, so I kept an eye on the time and at midnight, I whispered, "It's midnight. Happy New Year!" He gave me a kiss. It was one of the best New Year's Eves I've ever had. All the way home, we kept quoting lines from the movie and laughing our asses off. We're still quoting lines and laughing our asses off. :D

If you haven't seen this yet, you really should! And if you haven't seen the first one, then you should watch that one before seeing this one! :D

  1. This is one of my favorite TOL posts ever. I love the story of your New Year's Eve date with your husband and the kiss (swooning right now). I haven't seen either movie, but I just reserved the first one at the library. I'm a sucker for comedies. I just watched Meet the Millers. There was one scene I had to keep pausing like I was watching a horror it was that painful to watch! Funny, but I kept shouting, "No! Stop! You are not-pause-No that is just wrong-pause...

    1. Thank you! It was way better than getting drunk at a bar, lol, and I'm glad we chose the movie we did. I thought about The Book Thief for a split second, but we were worried about being depressed on NYE. We wanted to laugh. Anchorman, both 1 and 2, are so funny. There are these wildly stupid moments that are just freaking hilarious! We saw Meet the Millers, too. It was pretty funny. Now I really want to know what scene that was but think I have an idea. email me? :D

    1. Thank you, too! :) It was perfect - much better than getting drunk at a bar and being sick all the next day. It was so nice to laugh that much. We don't get that opportunity very often. I did feel a bit self conscious, though, because there were only six other people at the theater that night, and we laughed way more than they did! :D
