Think Out Loud #31 ~ It's Anarchy! It's Chaos! It's the Purge!

Yesterday I took my daughter and our friend Mary to see Divergent which was super exciting. I haven't even read the book yet, but I've been dying to see the movie. Now that we've seen the movie, my daughter and I are dying to read the book. I just have to find my copy, lol. Anyway, I'll have a review up of the movie this week sometime.

But this Think Out Loud post isn't about Divergent as awesome as it was to see that. It's about Anarchy. It's about The Purge 2!

Last year, I went to see The Purge and while I loved the concept and enjoyed the movie, I found talking about the movie was more interesting than the actual movie itself. So much more could have been done with the high concept plot, and I was left a bit disappointed.

This movie is one that I wish were adapted into a book. Have you ever felt that way about a movie that isn't based on a book?

Anyway, I had heard rumors last year during opening weekend for The Purge that due to its success at the box office there would be a sequel in the works. I just didn't think it would be out this year and am so excited to find out it's slated for release in July!

Here's the trailer I found online:

My excitement cannot be overstated. It looks awesome! Instead of following a rich family who have tried to barricade themselves in their expensive home, it looks like this time we'll be seeing things from the outside. Is July here yet??

Have you seen The Purge? What did you think? Would you see the sequel?

Think Out Loud #16 ~ "The Truth Will Consume You"

I went to see The Conjuring last night with my husband and two of my besties, Jill and Mary. I had been looking forward to this movie from the first moment I saw the preview. At one point, I was so scared, my gigantic Diet Coke slipped right out of my hands and drenched me and my husband, causing quite a few people to laugh because it was right at a scary moment!

Then, at another freaky moment in the movie, a guy was walking up the stairs to his seat and tripped, saying, "Oh, shit!" The entire room full of people laughed, and there were a TON of people there. Then Jill and I couldn't stop laughing even after everyone else had. You know those moments when you're trying so hard to stop laughing, but the more you try to stop, the more you laugh not to mention louder? Yeah, that was us. ;)

In one of the two previews for the movie, you can hear "Hurdy Gurdy Man" by Donovan playing, which is a freaky enough song anyway let alone when it's in a horror movie preview. In the other preview, "Time of the Season" by The Zombies is played, which is also played in the movie itself. This movie takes place in 1971, so the song really sets the time period. Plus, I love it when they play songs like those in scary movies. Makes it even freakier.

If you love to be scared like I do, lol, and you're a horror fan, you need to see this movie, stat! Great scary fun! :D

I've been slacking the last couple weeks with my Think Out Louds. Sorry Thinks Books! Don't kick me out, please! LOL. :)

Here I go again with movies. Can't help myself! Tomorrow night, one of my besties Jill and I are gonna see The Purge!!! First of all, this movie looks great and has actors Lena Headey and Ethan Hawke in it - love both of them! Secondly, I get out of the house and away for a well deserved night of scary goodness. :D

Besides books, horror movies make me super happy. I think this movie is more thriller than horror, but I'm sure there will still be plenty of scares to go around. Jill's niece and her friend are going with us. I'm not sitting on the end, lol!

I can't wait!!!!!!!!! I want to get out of the house - I feel like a prisoner here sometimes you know? - and it's a movie I've been dying, positively dying to see since I first saw the preview.

Anyone going to see The Purge this weekend?
