Feature & Follow #10 ~ A Song and a Book

featurefollow

I'm so excited to finally be joining Feature and Follow Friday!! This is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read where they each feature a fellow blogger and ask a question which can be answered by participating bloggers. If you aren't already following the two hosting bloggers, please visit their blogs to follow them, the bloggers they're featuring, and enter your own blog in the linky. Hop around to other blogs - find new blogs to follow and gain some new followers as well. :D

Q: Is there a song that reminds you of a book? Or vice versa? What is the song & the book?

The entire time I was reading Splintered  by A.G. Howard , Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit" was completely stuck in my head, lol. It's one of my favorite songs from its era, so I didn't mind at all. Love those lyrics! I just wondered if this song was stuck in anyone else's head while reading this book. :D

Splintered (Splintered, #1)

I'd love to hear what songs and books you guys have chosen! If you're a new follower, please let me know in the comments, and I'll follow back! :D

*Special Note* I'll be late hopping around to your blogs and responding to comments today due to my son's surgery for his cavities. Talk to y'all very soon! xoxo

  1. Oh, I wish your son a quick recovery from surgery! I wish you the same. It's not easy sitting in those waiting rooms, or later staying up late with your little patient. I would not be a happy camper if this song was stuck in my head because then I'd sing half a line and my oldest would insist I quit singing. I'd try my best but end up repeating our little exchange over and over. Old follower. Here's my FF.

    1. Thank you, Robyn! He had some pain and was wiped out Friday evening when we came home from the hospital, but today you'd never know he just had surgery two days ago. It's a really great feeling that he can eat without any pain now. I had no idea how bad it was! The thing about my kids is they rarely complain when they're in pain. I don't know how! The wait until he came back from surgery and recovery was definitely torture.

Lol, my kids ask me to stop singing, too! ;) No one in my family likes this song, and they get annoyed when I play it. But I don't care, lol. Heading to your FF! :D

    2. Kids recover much quicker than we do. When my youngest had his kidney removed and was still out after surgery, the nurse ran her fancy thermometer across his forehead because he was running a fever. With his eyes closed he reached up and grabbed it. We all jumped out of our seats. It was a total Jedi move. Then he sat up like he didn't just have layers of stitches in his side. I was a wreck and had to write a bunch of books just to recover.

    3. Oh my goodness, Robyn! I can't imagine waiting through that kind of surgery! That must have been really intense. Jack just had some cavities fixed. I knew it was preventable - that's what made it so awful for me more than anything, knowing we shouldn't have let him go to bed with a bottle especially for so long. Ack! If only I could take back all of those nights. He'd throw up because he would get so upset if we wouldn't give him one to go to sleep with. I know that's no excuse. I was worried about psychologically traumatizing him by taking away what was obviously comforting to him. I traumatized him in the end anyhow I guess. >.<

    4. No, no. That's a hard call. He had a serious emotional attachment to his bottle. I'm already considering signing my boys up for therapy now considering how much I'm going to mess them up.

    5. Do you think our parents felt like that about us? That they were raising us to where one day we'd all end up in therapy? It's SO hard being a parent, eep! And that's the understatement of the year, lol!!
