Feature & Follow #8 ~Reader Conventions~

featurefollow

I'm so excited to finally be joining Feature and Follow Friday!! This is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read where they each feature a fellow blogger and ask a question which can be answered by participating bloggers. If you aren't already following the two hosting bloggers, please visit their blogs to follow them, the bloggers they're featuring, and enter your own blog in the linky. Hop around to other blogs - find new blogs to follow and gain some new followers as well. :D

Q: We are about to see a lot of posts & tweets about reader conventions, RT, BEA, ALA and many more are starting soon. Which one would you love to attend? Where and why?

I've never been to a reader convention before. If I had to choose only one to start out with, I'd like to go to the BEA in New York. I love New York, and it isn't terribly far from me. I took a look at the website, and it seems really exciting. I'd be really nervous going though I think! :)

How about you? Have you been to a reader convention before? How was your experience? If not, which would you want to attend?

  13. Someday you should come here and go to one! I didn't know about these that much until I looked them up, lol. I'm surprised Sweden doesn't have any conventions like these. Do they have any bookish events?

    Following you back! :D

  18. Old follower here, too. :) Glad i'm not the only one who didn't know! And YES! I have to agree with you that BEA looks SO exciting. Is it always in NYC? I will have to plan for that, even if it means going by myself (a bit scary, but hey why not!?)

    1. I think it is always in NYC. RT seems to be in a different city every year. I think this year it will be in Kansas City. Last year it was in Chicago, and next year it will be in New Orleans. I really want to go to BEA next year. If you go, too, we should plan to meet! :)

  19. I haven't been to a reader convention either. I'll probably go to BEA, since my sister wants me to go to New York with her one day.

  20. OOh that's nice! Yeah BEA would be awesome to go to! So many ARCs!! RT though is a really fun convention to go to if you ever get the chance! I'm kind of addicted to them now!

Thanks for visiting and following my blog! Returning the follow!

    1. I didn't even think about the ARCs. Oh, my husband would just looove that, lol! He hasn't been complaining too much about my book buying addiction since he bought me a second bookcase. :D

I'd totally go to every convention I could if I were rich, I swear! RT def sounds awesome, too, especially since it's going to be in New Orleans next year. I'd get addicted, too. Were you nervous when you went to your first one?

You're welcome! Thank you for following me back! :D

  21. Oooh sounds interesting! Unfortunately though, I am in the Uk and there aren't many book conventions round here... Well, not as many as there are in the US. Maybe one day I'll go to New York for the sole purpose of attending BEA! :D

  22. BEA is one I'd love to attend but admit I think they would be overwhelming. In the meantime I'll just be green with envy.

    1. NYC is definitely expensive. My husband and I went there several years ago, but we actually stayed in New Jersey and took a train over to NYC. Just eating at the Hard Rock Cafe was like whoa! It would be so much fun though to go back, especially for a book convention!

    1. I remember the exact moment I stepped onto the sidewalk from the stairs leading down to the subway. I was really overwhelmed and awed by all the lights and gigantic, tall buildings! I didn't want to have my wallet on me, lol. I'm from a really really small town in Ohio. I still live here and have heard so many stories about NYC being dangerous and famous people being seen. All of that. I felt so tiny admist all those giant buildings. I couldn't really see the sky! I didn't do any touristy things or see much besides Times Square (which was really awesome though), so I'd like to go back and see more. :)

Have loads of fun at RT, and I'm looking forward to your posts! You're welcome for the follow & thanks so much for stopping by! :D
