Q: If you could read a book for the "first time" again, which book would it be? Why?

A: There were quite a few I thought about choosing, but ultimately I've decided to go with Jenny's Blue Velvet by A.C. Davis and Addicted to You (#1) by Krista & Becca Ritchie. I had to choose two; I couldn't help myself! Decisions, decisions. ;)

JENNY'S BLUE VELVET was such a surprise favorite for me. I was immediately drawn in by the cover and title. There was something haunting about both. Not to mention the fact I've been called Jenny for most of my life. :) It just really stayed with me long after I read it, and I'm incredibly thankful another blogger friend had also read it because afterward I needed therapy! (Shout out to Bookworm Brandee!) I read this in one sitting and think I sat there with a dropped jaw for at least an hour after I finished it up. I mean, wow! I was shocked with the turn the story took!

ADDICTED TO YOU was heartbreaking and beautifully written. I was right there with Lily and Lo as they struggled with their addictions and spent all of their energy covering up for the other. There was a moment close to the end that was just absolutely IT for me. It's hard to describe - it's something you need to experience yourself. The best way I can try to explain it is that it was a HUGE turning point for these characters...a huge movie moment.

What would you like to be able to read again for the first time?

  1. Awesome, Jennifer. I always love how involved in the stories you get. I've gotten that "must get therapy now" feeling. Some stories just leave you a little lost. I really remember your Addicted to You review. It was intense!

    1. Thanks, Robyn! I like being left a little lost. I most definitely feel that way after watching Donnie Darko no matter how many times I've seen it. Addicted to You is an intense novel with movie moments aplenty. :)

  2. Okay, I just found the next book I'm going to read: Addicted to you. You and the goodreads blurb just sold it to me :) Thanks! lol I've never heard of both, but they sound like great choices!

    1. I can't even tell you how much I recommend Addicted to You! That series is amazing! I had never read about a sex addicted character, and before this book, I was seriously questioning whether sex addiction is even a real addiction or an excuse. But this book made my mind up - I think it's an addiction, and like any addiction, it can destroy your life.

Thanks for the follow! Following you back! :)

    1. I must admit, Angela, it came to mind first, but I figured it would be a popular answer this week. ;) Addicted to You is AH-MAZING!!! Can't stress that enough! It will change your perspective on sex addiction - what it is, what it isn't, and how it destroys Lily's life. Thanks for visiting! :)
