The Young and the Restless
For the weeks of 9/3-9/7 & 9/10-9/14

So. Craziness ensues over at Y&R! I don't like Sharon's character right now, but I also don't like having her evaluated by a psychiatrist due to past behavior although she is showing signs of kleptomania again. But she's deemed competent to run Newman in the absence of her husband, Victor. At first I couldn't figure out why everyone but Sharon is freaking out wondering where he is, but now that it seems he has amnesia it's all starting to make sense.

Nikki has some dead-on psychic connection to Victor. I just wish she could've put that aside and had a happy marriage with Jack. What a shame such a beautiful wedding has gone to waste, and as I've mentioned before, I'd like Jack to be happily married. Maybe it'd tone down the obsessive business man in him.

I loved seeing Cane in action, trying to talk Jack out of sinking everything into Newman stock. Cane warned Jack he could lose everything plus people's jobs are at stake. As messed up as it is, Jack of course has forged ahead full steam anyhow. Cane is hottt in a suit--talk business to me Cane!!! <3 lol

It's killing me that Nick and Summer have moved out away from Phyllis. It's really sad that Summer has to believe her mom had an affair with Ronan because otherwise, she'd be carrying around the real truth--that Tim died in Phyllis's apartment, and Phyllis moved his body to his own apartment along with the help of Kevin. Though I'm sad that Nick has once again abandoned Phyllis, I'm really rooting for Phyllis and Ronan to get together.

When Michael asked him why he's laying everything on the line, including his career, for Phyllis because Michael pretty much knows Ronan and Phyllis aren't really having an affair. He knows Ronan is covering for Phyllis. Ronan answered that he's in love with her, and my heart melted into a puddle of goo!! Wow he's hot. He's there for Phyllis so much more than Nick, and when Phyllis told Nick that she doesn't tell him things because she doesn't want to see the disappointment in his eyes, I totally get that. It's true--he's so easily disgusted by the things she does. She has her flaws for sure, and she used to be a villain on the show. But she's come a long way since then, and I absolutely adore her. She's one of my fave characters. I love her to pieces. BTW, I think the actress playing Summer is great. It's difficult when kids on soaps are rapidly aged, but she's handling the role with finesse. Kudos to her! :D

The Bold and the Beautiful

I'm sad to report I haven't been able to watch this show. Now I know that Ronn Moss (Ridge Forrester) is leaving the show as well as Susan Flannery (Stephanie Forrester), I'm devastated. What is the show gonna be without them? They've been there since the beginning. The show is the Hope/Steffy/Liam hour, and I am so completely annoyed by Liam it's hard to watch the horrible choices he makes. I wish I could shake some sense into him!! lol

Week of 9/3 - 9/7

Y&R
Disappointingly enough, Y&R wasn't on Monday or Friday due to the U.S. Open tennis taking over. So this week's recap will be short & sweet with some B&B thrown in.

I'm glad Sharon isn't the CEO of Newman Enterprises anymore, but I disagree with Victoria and Nick's method of getting her removed. She was emotionally and mentally unstable a few years ago, but look at what happened to her. She lost her teenage daughter Cassie in a car accident, and then Adam made her think she had given birth to a stillborn only to find out later he switched her baby with Ashley's baby. Ashley was the one who had a stillborn. No wonder she had to go to an institution! Although, if my memory is right, I think she was in there before she gave birth? I'm not sure.

Depression and anxiety don't mean you are crazy, and I don't really like that is being implied by Sharon saying she can't go back to the institution for evaluation because she might get depressed and anxious again. She is also a klepto, but again, doesn't mean she's "crazy", which is what she says she'll be labeled as if she does slip back into depression before the evaluation. I think it's an irresponsible message to send, especially since there's already such a stigma against people who suffer from these emotional disorders and need treatment.

I'm super upset that Jack and Nikki's marriage lasted not even a day. Why did Nikki have to go running after Victor? He disappears once in a while without telling anyone--why wouldn't she just think this is one of those times? Although I'm thinking he must have fallen off his horse, hit his head, got amnesia, and then wandered off from Wisconsin to L.A., LOL. I can't help but chuckle at storylines sometimes. Let me tell you, Victor Braeden is acting the hell out of this story--he's fabulous, absolutely fabulous.

I'm happy to see Cane involved in business this week rather than the Genevieve storyline. He's trying to do the right thing and stop Jack from sinking everything he has into Newman stock, but of course Jack isn't listening. Jack will stop at nothing to try to make Victor suffer, and I know it's because he feels he's lost Nikki to him, which basically he has I guess. But as Cane mentioned, there are a lot of people who could lose their jobs if this idea of Jack's doesn't work and he does end up losing everything. As much as I don't like the character of Genevieve at times, I enjoy watching Genie Francis act, and man can she act! I love how she delivers her lines; what a pro!

It is so obvious Tucker is using Sharon. And I'm not surprised they've totally had sex now. Sharon doesn't take long to seduce a man, lol.

B&B
Since there is still only one storyline going on right now, all I really have to say about this one is that Liam should just be with Steffy. Just get it over with--they deserve each other. Liam runs to her every time he has a misunderstanding with Hope. I'm sick of watching this back and forth thing. Liam is being so lame right now! Ugh!

That's all for this week! See ya next time!

soapy sundays #7

Week of 8/27 - 8/31

Victor's looking cool in his new flannel shirt, lol. What's up with him? Does he have amnesia?

Neil + Harmony = yawn

Please tell me Sofia is sticking around. I want this character to stick around!

I love Nick, but Ronana and Phyllis together in a room...you can just SEE the sparks flying. He's there for her in ways that Nick will never be. Plus now he's taking a huge risk helping her and Kevin out. Btw, I love Nick's new 'do!

Phyllis and Kevin are alternating between hilarity and painfulness. I'm glad Phyllis told Ronan the truth about Tim's death, which just proves my point that the two of them would make a better couple than she does with Nick. She can't be honest with Nick the way she can with Ronan. People are going to find out the truth about Tim's death anyway. Michael knows Kevin was the "encyclopedia" salesman, so Kevin needs to tell Chloe the truth before Michael spills the beans in front of her. No wonder marriages on Y&R don't last. :/

Yaaaaay! Cane and Lily are on! I'm starting to not like Genevieve. I don't like this whole who's stalking the three of them thing. I'm confused and kinda don't care as long as the stalker leaves Cane and Lily alone. They're a happy couple. I get it. Not a lot of room for drama, but can they have a better story? If Cane's sister is indeed alive, then that would be cool. As long as Cane and Lily are onscreen, that's all I care about. :D

Awww, Paul and Avery working together...I love it! Can this week get any better?? Love it when Avery gets tough. Love it even more when Paul gets tough! When the creepy guy admitted he knew Paul's son killed at least two people, the way Avery turned to Paul with shock and concern for him written all over her face spoke volumes.

Oh yeah! Sharon, Katherine is gonna set you straight! Yes! CanNOT believe Sharon just fired Nick. Wow, she's really gonna be f#%&ed when Victor comes home. I mean really.

I'm rooting for Daniel and Heather. Jennifer Landon, the actress who is playing Heather, is phenomenal! Ah-mazing! I hope she stays on forever. If I haven't mentioned this before, she's the daughter of the late Michael Landon, best known for his roles on Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie, and Highway to Heaven.

Ooooo, Jack is mad! I wouldn't cross him when his temper flares like that! He wants to just walk again, and lucky for him, he's on Y&R where miracles occur all the time. You're gonna walk again, buddy. Just be patient.

I don't blame Jack. I'd probably kick Nikki out, too. It was so messed up when she left Jack on their wedding day to run off and try to find Victor. Hello! You married Jack, not Victor! Now you've lost a guy who would love you in a healthier way than Victor, and Jack is once again a heartbroken guy. :(

Kyle is annoying when he isn't around Eden. Sorry, just sayin'. And what? Sharon took his driver's license and put it in a box? WTH?

Wow, Tucker and Sharon are hotttt! (Yep, with more than one "t".) Right Tucker, you want to keep things "business like." Like anyone believes you!

Dear Y&R,
Thank you for an awesome week of seeing so many of my fave characters!
Rock on!
Your devoted fan.

soapy sundays #6

Week of 8/20 - 8/24
Victor is gonna be *pissed* when he eventually comes home, but maybe if he stopped taking off without warning, then people would stop trying to take over Newman Enterprises. I swear the actress who plays the nun that Victor meets has had a minor role on the show before. A friend of mine on Twitter, Angela Iorio, let me know this actress was on the TV show, One Day at a Time.

There were some fun fireworks when Sharon takes over the company since her husband is absent. She was screaming like a crazy person! She's on a huge power trip right now, but I hope she ends up having a nervous breakdown. Is that mean to say? The situation with Tucker shows just how naiive Sharon really is. She got rid of Abby's horses--bad move, Sharon!

Nothing was funnier than Phyllis and Kevin moving Tim's dead body, and then the double entendres that ensued when Chloe stopped by because she saw Kevin's car at Phyllis's apartment. Kevin doesn't want to bring Chloe into the mess with Tim's death, so he keeps fibbing to her, which is just going to make her think he's cheating on her or something. Now Phyllis is even more in way over her head, and I didn't think that was possible! When Nick inevitably finds out, and I know he will, she's gonna lose him. I don't want to see them go back and forth again.

Awww...Chelsea and Adam are having a baby!! I'm happy for them, just think it's kinda early in their relationship. Just enjoy being married and happy you two! lol

Dear Y&R,
Please get rid of the Restless Style show. It's boring and ridiculous!
Love,
A loyal and dedicated fan :)

double edition of soapy sundays #4 & #5

Soapy Sundays #4

Since my sister went into the hospital on 8/8 to have her baby, I was with her most of the time and caught up on "The Young and the Restless" when she was released from the hospital. I haven't been able to catch up with "The Bold and the Beautiful" or "General Hospital" yet, so this soapy Sunday will be about Y&R! :D

Week of 8/6-8/10
I loved how Victor abandoned Sharon on their wedding night, which she then decided to get drunk after realizing her new husband ditched her. Tucker showed up, saying he had a business meeting scheduled with Victor, but I don't know...sounds fishy to me! I think TPTB want to team up Tucker and Sharon, which is totally fine by me--I like them together. I'm sorry Ashley divorced Tucker--I was hoping they could be happy for a while, and Ashley was good for Tucker.

The best part about Sharon's drunkenness was when she crashes Jack and Nikki's wedding reception, which really pisses Nikki off (it would've pissed me off too!). Sharon and Nikki get into a heated argument, which ends with Nikki pushing Sharon into the pool! I'm loving these huge knock-down-drag-out fights between those two...keeps me laughing! All I could think was that Sharon crashed the wedding AND crashed into the pool, lol.

Tucker and Sharon come close to sleeping together, and though she's married to Victor, we all know he only married her to try to get under Nikki's skin since she married Jack. How much more obvious could Victor have gotten? He married Sharon on his private jet the same day Nikki and Jack tied the knot. Honestly, I'd rather see Sharon and Tucker together. At least Tucker isn't the grandfather of Sharon's kids!!

Omg, Phyllis, will you please just tell Nick the truth! He can help you out of this--he's a Newman for pete's sake with powerful connections. Nope, instead Phyllis decides to borrow the outrageous amount of money her former psychiatrist is demanding from her to not turn in her taped confession concerning the hit-and-run from almost twenty years ago. And she takes the money from her daughter Summer's trust fund! That just makes it that much worse! Of course Nick finds out and is super pissed at Phyllis, and I don't blame him at all. She just keeps digging the hole deeper. P.S.-Phyllis is right...the new "Restless Style" reality show is a snoozefest. Why is this a storyline again? Billy should change the name of the magazine and show from "Restless Style" to "Restless Gossip" lol.

I can't get over how good the new Heather is on the show. I wish I could remember the actress's name. She was Gwen on "As the World Turns", which was one of my faves from that show. I still miss ATWT like crazy! She just fit right in as Paul's daughter, and there is no denying her talent in being able to do that. I love Eden Riegel (ex-Bianca from All My Children), but I think Y&R should have brought her on as a completely new character and not as Heather. The role wasn't right for the talented actress.

I love the actress playing Eden and the incredible job she's doing with the role as Michael and Kevin's sister.  I believe she's the third actress playing the part, and she's fabulous. I like how she's involved in a major storyline *finally* since she's come back to town, and she did a great job with the hypnosis scenes. I imagine that would be hard to pull off. It does seem like the show isn't sure what to do with her character relationship wise. She was kind of with Daniel, kind of with Noah, and now is kind of with Kyle. I haven't warmed up to Kyle yet (Kyle is Jack's son). They quickly aged him along with Summer (Phyllis and Nick's daughter). I like Summer a lot, but Kyle is bratty and it doesn't make sense that he feels so much animosity towards his father. He didn't leave that way before the character was aged. I do, however, like Kyle when he is with Eden. He's really protective of her and was concerned the hypnosis was too much for her. I hope they become a couple so he can become more likable, lol. Would the court even accept hypnosis as evidence to clear Paul's name? In the real world no, in soap land, probably. Eden wasn't able to recover all of her memories from the night Paul shot Ricky, so I'm wondering if they'll try the hypnosis therapy again.

Then we come to the last moment of Friday's (the 10th) episode--Victor has taken off again and is hanging out unloading ships. No care in the world, not even for his family, who are worried sick about him. Nikki even wonders if he's been kidnapped. He had a heart transplant a few years ago, so I would be more concerned about his health than anything else. Then again, he's also done this taking off thing before--hello Adam! Back in the day, Victor took off without a word to anyone and went to Kansas, where he met Hope and fell in love with her. They had a son named Victor Jr., but he came to be known as Adam (his middle name or something?). My dear Adam! How I love thee! LOL <3

Well, hopefully Victor isn't having health problems, but he really shouldn't keep doing this to his family. It's really selfish.

Tomorrow I'll post Soapy Sundays #5 for the week of 8/13-8/17. See ya then!
